Progress Technical – Owner/Principle Consultant – Summer2010 to present
Freelance IT Support and Design– development of various web applications written in PHP using the LAMP stack. Administrate an ISP, Adelie.net for various clients.
Facebook Apps/Tabs– Design and deployment of several Facebook Applications and Tab sites: http://apps.facebook.com/ce_local_causes/ and http://apps.facebook.com/ke_activity/ Provided creative support as well as the PHP/SQL work for the sites.
Wordpress– provide creative, HTML/CSS, and systems support for several blogs: http://coldeeze.com/blog/and http://kidseeze.com/blog/ Provide theme enhancements, graphic, and systems support.
Zimbra E-Mail– deployed multiple VMWare Zimbra Collaboration Suite (ZCS) servers for clients. Provided the systems support, software installation, SSL certificate support, data migration, and training for the roll-out. Zimbra is a Linux-based e-mail and calendaring system with mobile device support. The effort included the support for Android, iPhone, and Blackberry devices.

Load Balanced high volume site– Engineered the network infrastructure in support of a nationally broadcast ice skating show, NBC’s Improv Ice which had live voting for the favorite skater. Sponsored by ProPhase Labs, the show made mention of the Cold-EEZE.com site for voting at the end of the show. A level-three network switch from Foundry Networks provided the needed load balancing. Four HP DL-300 series servers did the work. Some 50,000 page views and votes were tallied in three minutes time.
Web Infrastructure - deployed new websites for ProPhase at their Paetec co-location facility in Bethlehem, PA. Sites were created by Blue Fountain Media, but required major configuration and content revision to go live. Sites are based on a proprietary Zend-framework implementation. The sites run in a PHP-5.2 LAMP environment. Source code was supplied and modified to fit corporation’s hosting standards.
E-Commerce: Created and deployed Magento-based e-commerce site. Site accepts major credit cards and is PCI Data Security Standard (DSS) compliant.
PCI complianceaudit completed for ProPhase Labs new Magento e-commerce suite. Security Metrics was used as the scanning and compliance auditor for the effort. Configured the LAMP (CentOS) suite to meet PCI requirements.
Mobile Devices: Cocoa Touch – iPad - “An Aircraft Weight and Balance Calculator” (in development), GTK+ development for the iRex DR 1000 eReader (a Linux device), “An Aircraft Weight and Balance Calculator.”
PHP Coding, SQL Coding– developed Microsoft Office .docx to text conversion system for Concord Management Group International. Coded in PHP using Eclipse and debugged using remote Xdebug sessions within the workbench. Upon upload of a resume, this system extracts the textual data and stores it in the database for later search. The system recognizes .pdf, .doc, and .docx files.
Open Source Contributions: past Java code contributor to the GanntProject, a Java-based project management software suite: http://www.ganttproject.biz/ Contributed code for project completion status and current date indicator.

ProPhase Labs– (formerly The Quigley Corporation) – NASDAQ PRPH, is a national OTC drug manufacturer. The principle product is Cold-EEZE, a common-cold relief medication. This product retails in roughly 30,000 locations in the US through major customers such as Wal-Mart, K-Mart, CVS, and other national chains. Orders are taken via EDI and fulfilled at the factory in Lebanon, PA. Managed a department of six other IT personnel and programmers. ProPhase Labs at one time had multiple sites of manufacturing and sales in Pennsylvania and Utah and a pharmaceutical division headquartered in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
EDI- Administrate Sage MAS200 system and a QualEDI translator handle EDI PO messages, invoicing, and ASN information with remote printing. Managed VANs, AS2 servers, and data synchronization. Mappings for EDI messages handled in-house.
Network Infrastructure – designed and implemented various site LANs and WANs. Managed switches, gigabit Ethernet, and fiber links in datacenter. Linux firewalling was utilized to lower costs. Knowledge of Cisco Routers and IP Protocols: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, and etc. Instituted Nagios network monitoring multiple site awarness.
E-Mail Systems– creation of a multi-location Exchange 2003 System using open-source Spamassassin based spam filtering authored AJAX-driven whitelist control lowering TCO.
Internet Servers and eCommerce – designed and implemented Linux-based server farm at a Paetec data-center. Load-sharing system was designed for high-speed video delivery using Apache, MySQL, and PHP. eCommerce connected back-end process. Maintain corporate server presence including web site editing and new content creation (Drupal, CMSMS, JQuery).
Windows Servers, Citrix Servers– administrate multiple Windows 2003 servers with Active Directory. Administrate the Citrix metaframe system for remote access to MRP system from the manufacturing plant. Administrate Veritas Backup Exec with DLT tape changers
Blackberry Enterprise Server– install and administration of corporate RIM devices. Administered iPhone devices on the Exchange network as well.
Audits and Infrastrure – authored Business Continuity Plan (BCP), authored Disaster Plan document for corporation. PCI/CISP audit responsibility for PCI/CISP audit (stored credit card information and recurring charges). SOX Audit – multiple year responsibility. External Audit – multiple year responsibility for DP Audit conducted by external auditing firm.
Chief Technology Officer – Concord Management Group – Spring, 2000 to Fall 2001 – 1 1/2 years
Designed The Concord Management Group's web application. Concord is a mid-tier recruiter specializing in the placement of pharmaceutical sales and management personnel and rated number one is this field. Their web site is a database heavy implementation using PHP and MySQL to parse and store résumés, schedule interviews, run e-mail campaigns, invoice, report, and other placement functions.

Engineering background of about twenty years experience in software and electronic engineering and engineering management. Employed at Kulicke & Soffa Industries (Semi-conductor processing equipment), Quad Systems Corporation (surface mount circuit board robotic equipment), and other engineering and software firms. Hold design patent # 6114711 (http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/6114711/fulltext.html) for a robotic end-affecter and sensor.
